My Trip

I just returned from a 16 day adventure covering 9 countries in Central Europe. From Great Britain, Holland, Germany to Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and France...with stops in Liechtenstein, Monaco, and Belgium, I have just experienced the trip of a lifetime. Truly the worst part of the trip was coming home.

I stood near the top of the Eiffel Tower, rose to the top of the Arc De Triomphe, watched the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, stood at the top of Mt. Pilatus in the Swiss Alps, took a carriage ride though the countryside in Austria, cruised down the Rhine River looking at castles, and much much more.

What I have come to realize is that our country is still very young. We do not have things in this country that are a 1000 years old. We do not have the history that many of these European countries have. I was blown away looking at a church in Germany that was built in 1248! I cannot even conceive that I was standing in something so old.

I cannot wait until I go back and experience more of what this world has to offer.

  1. I understand exactly what you feel. After being in these places and running my hands along the same stones that people did a thousand years ago, and walking along the same streets it is in some respects awe inspiring. To feel the energy and breathe this air really cannot be explained, unless you've done it. I am so glad you had this opportunity. And hope there will be many more.
